Protect Sensitive Data Throughout the University!
With everything going on throughout the university it is important to reinforce important information security standards and policies that are designed to protect our communications, data, and systems.
The data transfer standard of the University is to provide encryption for each protocol used to the best of our abilities. For examples, we use IMAP/SSL for our email and HTTPS for secure web applications. These security protocols encrypted data and provide the authentication of authorized users of these services. The rule of thumb is to use encryption protocols whenever the possibility of sensitive data may be in use for that information system.
